I’d say rest in peace Christopher Hitchens but..

he’s past care.

Just heard about this at lunch, sadly. All I really feel like saying about this right now is this: although the person he was is gone, his thoughts, ideas and writing will continue to inspire, and raise ire, for years to come. He made a difference to many lives and will surely be missed.

A great b-i-i-i-g mouth (and in this context it’s a compliment, not an insult) has been shut. The atheosphere has lost a mighty voice.

But a young acquaintance of mine said, “It’s like Socrates dying. Although he died, his ideas and inspiration live on.”

It was Hitch’s writings and YouTube vids that helped this young man shed the christian dogmas and develop his mind.

There were Four Horsemen. Now there are only three.

    Goodbye, Hitch, and thank you.

Yeah, we lost a strong voice, but more will take his place, inspired by what he was able to give in the time he had. We should all aim for something similar but I know that can be a challenge all on its own, especially in places where atheism is still looked down upon or outright evil.
