When you were a kid, what did you want for Christmas?

I had this huge stegosaurus stuffed toy in mind. It was in the Sears Christmas Wish Book and oh did I drool over that thing. To this day, I have no idea where I would have put it if the folks had actually gotten it for me, but oh, how I wanted it. What I got that year instead was a stuffed fox (which I named Tod for The Fox and the Hound, which must have come out around the same time) and a cute stuffed yellow and white dinosaur who obviously became Dino. I still have them. Dino’s neck is pretty floppy now because I carried him by the neck and pushed the stuffing around. Tod got a lot of use as an extra pillow under my neck. I played with them a lot, and probably more than I would have played with the stego.

I never dreamed this big, though: Gayla Peevy wanted a Hippopotamus for Christmas.
